Palm Care

Lethal Yellowing
Lethyl Yellowing of a Coconut palm, kills 90% of palms within 3 to 18 months, no cure.

The Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) is part of the University of Florida. Their scientists provide excellent articles on palm care including managing palm diseases and pests.

Other organizations and commercial nurseries have provided excellent discussions on palm care.

Also, the members of the South Florida Palm Society are always ready to help. In 2026, we had a panel of experts help our members with palm care questions. Specific palm care problems can be addressed to the SFPS Facebook Community page or through the contact form on this website or sending us an email at palms@southfloridapalmsociety.org .
